Student Leadership Opportunities
The Office of New Student and Family Services will begin recruitment for the 2017 - 2018 Orientation Counselor staff starting September 1, 2016. Orientation Counselors (OCs) fulfill a critical role in helping new students and families transition to the UNC Charlotte campus. During your time as an OC you will gain skills in a variety of areas such as leadership, public speaking, team achievement and problem solving.
Successful OC candidates will exhibit the OC values of integrity, community, personal development, team achievement, leadership, and #NinerPride. Candidates must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and want to work with incoming Freshman and Transfer students as well as parents and family members. Due to the complexity of the position, OCs are not permitted to be Resident Advisors or enroll in summer courses.

Week of Welcome (WOW!) Leaders provide volunteer support to the overall Week of Welcome (WOW!) Program. WOW! Leaders assist in the transition of new student to the UNC Charlotte community as well as engaging the returning student body to the many programs, services, and traditions present at the university. WOW! Leaders are dependable, flexible, responsible, and highly enthusiastic. They possess strong time management skills as well as demonstrate a willingness to help others. These students enjoy working with new students and consistently display a positive and supportive attitude, especially during stressful and demanding situations.
